![]() The Days of Remembrance is held from the Sunday before ‘Yom HaShoah’ which means Holocaust Remembrance Day in Hebrew, through the next Sunday. Along with the Jews, anybody not in the good books of the Nazis, including the Roma people, social democrats, disabled people, trade unionists, and homosexuals, were also thrown into the camps. It occurs on the Sunday nearest July 11, the anniversary of the date in 1921 that a truce was signed ending the Irish War of Independence. Many people were also forced to engage in hard labor.
